Dementia support in a PCMC home

Dementia support here means a planned home visit in Pimpri-Chinchwad for someone who may not recognise a new face at the door. It is not a memory clinic.

A township desk that asks for a company name is a poor fit when the resident cannot say who invited the visitor. Families in Wakad and Hinjawadi solve this by having the working adult come down to the lobby, or by leaving a written authority the security desk already accepts. Tell us which of those is true. A hopeful arrival without it is a refused entry.

In Nigdi or the older Pimpri lanes the issue is different: neighbours notice an unknown person, and the resident may agree with the neighbour and refuse the visit. A known family member on the phone at that moment is part of the plan, not a courtesy.

Support can include company, a meal the family has already organised, and a message if something looks unlike the usual afternoon. It cannot include a new drug, a test, or a decision that the person should be moved. Those stay with the clinician the family already uses.

Shift work makes this harder. The calm hour may be mid-morning, before the phase traffic, or after 8pm when someone trusted is back. Pick the hour the resident is least frightened, not the hour that is merely convenient for a roster.

Do not use this page for a home outside Pimpri-Chinchwad. Memory-loss support in another city is either the national page or that city’s own article, if one has been written.

Where can this help happen?

Assistance happens in India. You can be in India or abroad — those are two different places in the request.

What information helps

The city, who is involved, access (keys, society, hospital), and what a useful visit would look like.

What the process looks like

Tell us the PCMC home, who the person still recognises, and how the gate works when they cannot explain a visitor. We propose a cadence. We do not label the illness ourselves.

Typical first response is a written review, not an instant assignment.

What happens after you request

  1. Kalyan Mitraa reviews your request.
  2. We clarify anything needed, in writing.
  3. We coordinate the assistance if we can take it.
  4. You receive updates on the request record.

Limits we will not blur

We do not diagnose dementia, lock a ward, or promise that a stranger will be trusted. Wandering outside a township is an emergency plan you must already have with the family, not a service we invent on arrival.

Questions

They will not open the door to someone new. Can you still come?
Only if a person they know is there to introduce the visitor. Write that person’s name and the hour they are actually home.
There is already a national dementia page. Why this one?
The national page does not describe a PCMC boom barrier or a phase-shift household. Use this page only when the home is in this city.
